Assesses the distribution of land cover classes and evaluates historical forest cover changes based on Hansen cumulative loss data.

Canopy Density & Biomass

Canopy density is classified into five tiers. Above Ground Biomass (AGB) and Below Ground Biomass (BGB) are calculated using a static canopy-class coefficient model mapped to these density tiers.

Vegetation Vigor (NDVI)

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is processed using Sentinel-2 optical imagery filtered for cloud cover, evaluating the relative health and density of vegetation.

Understanding the Limitations

Carbon Assessment provides a preliminary geospatial evaluation designed for early-stage project intelligence.

  • Analysis depends heavily on the spatial resolution of the source datasets (typically 10m to 30m).
  • Estimations of biomass and carbon utilize static coefficients based on canopy density, which may not capture specific local ecological nuances.
  • Results should be interpreted together with project-specific technical, ecological, legal, and field validation information.
  • This assessment is not automatically equivalent to official project certification, regulatory MRV compliance, or carbon credit issuance.
